STL Forest Products is a family-run operation based in DeSoto, Missouri — where the Ozark hills meet the Mississippi River valley and timber is more than a resource. It's a way of life.

Where It Started

What began as a working sawmill and firewood supply business grew into something more. Processing timber day after day, we kept seeing the character in every slab — the live edge of a cedar board, the grain of a freshly milled log — and we couldn't let it go to waste. That instinct to find the beauty inside raw wood is what drives everything we make.

Today, STL Forest Products is three things in one: a sawmill, a firewood supplier, and a workshop where handcrafted wood products come to life.

What We Make

Live-Edge Cedar Mantels & Slabs
Milled on-site from locally sourced cedar, each mantel and slab carries the natural edge of the original tree. No two pieces are alike. We do minimal finishing so the wood's own character — its knots, color variation, and grain — stays front and center.

Chainsaw Carvings
Our carvings start with a saw and a vision. Working freehand, we shape logs into bears, eagles, owls, mushrooms, and custom pieces that reflect the wildlife and landscapes of the Missouri Ozarks. It's a process that demands patience and a feel for the wood — you can't rush it, and you can't fake it.

The WoodBundler Firewood Machine
Born out of our own firewood operation, the WoodBundler is a machine we designed to solve a real problem: bundling firewood efficiently without sacrificing quality. If you're running a firewood business or managing large volumes of wood, this machine was built by someone who's been in your boots.

Our Materials & Process

We source timber locally from the DeSoto area and surrounding Missouri counties. Cedar is our signature material — aromatic, durable, and visually striking. Every piece we sell has been handled by us from log to finished product. There's no outsourcing, no shortcuts. When you buy from STL Forest Products, you're getting something made by the same hands that milled the wood.
